Visual analytics is the science of analytical reasoning through interactive visual interfaces. Ensuring interactivity when dealing with big data sets is a real challenge, especially if data sets cannot be handled at once in memory. An example use case is analyzing billions of records from connected vehicles for traffic and road safety analysis. In this talk, we will show how a novel cloud-based architecture enables such big data analysis, without compromising interactivity.
