BARC's most recent survey on Data Mesh reveals the following insights:

* All data mesh pillars are highly relevant to most organizations and are being implemented by many, regardless of whether they are called Data Mesh or not.

* Responsibility for data products is gradually but clearly moving to the business, for which they need a higher level of data & analytics empowerment.

* Empowering business users for self-service does not necessarily require one single central data & analytics platform, but access to comprehensive data intelligence features is critical to success.
